January 2021 summary

Usually the January is a brave new world to everyone, with resolutions, big plans and agendas. I’ve started my project back in September, so I feel like I’m a few months ahead. What I did not write in the December summary was information that I’ve accepted a job as Tech Lead at the company I’m working for. Therefore, I could have expected that January would be a terra incognita, so I did not want to make any big plans or promises. There was no way to know how would it go for me, how much I would be occupied at work and so on.

Writing these words on Sunday, 31st of January I’m sure, that next months will be challenging, but yet interesting. What is more important – I’m sure, that I will be able to keep up the work I’m doing here, and it should not collide with my new work obligations.

At the beginning of January I knew, that it’s hard to predict anything. I’ve settled then on going back to the Tanenbaum’s book about operating systems. With even a couple of minutes spent on it every day, I still could feel that I’ve done something meaningful. I didn’t know how much free time I would have in upcoming month so that was a good plan. What is more – I’ve stuck with it for the whole month! In total, three chapters notes finished! That’s a first part of the summary. The second part is a promise – in a couple of days, not only my notes will be publicly available. BareMetalDev will go to the next level of progress – fully online. Stay tuned!
